First launch

Get started with BootForge.

BootForge helps you prepare and manage a multi-boot USB drive. Keep the app and your ISO library on local storage with enough free space for the images you plan to use.

1. Download BootForge from the official SecureBootLabs source and install it locally.
2. Open BootForge, review the first-run safety notice, and connect only the removable USB drive you intend to prepare.
3. Use the device details shown in the app to confirm the capacity and target before continuing.
4. Never select an internal, system, or unknown drive. Preparing a drive can permanently erase its contents.

Multi-boot setup

Prepare a BootForge drive.

BootForge uses Ventoy as its stable multi-boot engine. The setup action installs the boot environment to the selected USB drive, then automatically refreshes the device so ISO management is ready without a separate reinspection.

1. Back up every file on the USB drive. Choose Erase USB + Install Ventoy only after confirming the target.
2. Review the erase confirmation carefully. Windows requests administrator approval only for this disk-changing operation.
3. Approve the UAC prompt if the drive and operation are correct. Declining it safely cancels the setup.
4. Wait for BootForge to finish and rediscover the prepared drive before adding images.

Image library

Add verified ISO files.

ISO files are copied to the prepared drive and appear in the multi-boot menu at startup. BootForge supports adding a single image or importing several images in one operation.

1. Download an ISO only from its official project or another authorized source.
2. Verify the published checksum and signature when available before importing the image.
3. In the Multi-Boot view, choose an ISO from your library or select one or more verified files to add.
4. Check the available space on the USB drive, then begin the copy. Keep the drive connected until it completes.
5. If you cancel a copy, BootForge removes the incomplete file while leaving completed images intact.

Deployment

Boot the prepared media.

1. Safely eject the BootForge drive after all copies and verification tasks finish.
2. Connect it to the target computer, open that computer's one-time boot menu, and select the USB drive.
3. Choose the required ISO from the BootForge multi-boot menu.
4. Continue with the ISO publisher's official installation, live-session, or recovery instructions.

BootForge prepares the media; the ISO publisher controls its own compatibility, licensing, setup process, and hardware requirements.

Trust protocol

Protect your data and devices.

1. Confirm the physical USB target, capacity, and contents before every erase, restore, or install action.
2. Keep a record of each image version and checksum for repeatable recovery or deployment.
3. Do not remove the USB drive during setup, image copying, verification, or updates.
4. Use security, recovery, and forensics environments only on systems you own or are explicitly authorized to administer, inspect, or test.
5. Use the safe-eject action when available, then wait for Windows to confirm that the drive can be removed.
